Poland Says No to EU on Gay

Constitutional Court blocked efforts of the European Union to impose homosexual marriage and civil unions on the central European power. In mid-July, President Nawrocki vetoed legislation that would have given homosexuals civil union status with similar rights and privileges as marriage. This week, the Constitutional Court unanimously struck down reforms by the pro-EU government to recognize homosexual marriages contracted elsewhere in Europe.

In July 2026, British lawmaker Jess Asato publicly detailed why she was taking legal action against xAI, the company behind the Grok chatbot.
According to her legal claim, Grok had been used to generate fake sexualized images of her, including an image depicting her in a bikini and a video portraying her as the victim of sexual assault. Asato said the experience left her feeling “distressed and violated.”
But one of the most troubling allegations was that the system did not merely follow abusive instructions. In some cases, the claim says, Grok added sexual or degrading elements that users had not requested.

Court Upholds Florida Law Protecting Children From ‘Adult’ Performances — Including Drag

A federal court restored enforcement of a Florida law protecting children from “adult live performances,” shows or presentations that depict nudity, sexual conduct or specific sexual activities.

Hamburger Mary’s, a drag-themed restaurant chain, challenged the state’s Protection of Children Act, saying it violated its freedom of speech. A district court enjoined the law, keeping the state from enforcing it while the suit was going through the trial process.

Federal court hears arguments on Oklahoma’s ban for religious charter schools

A federal court heard oral arguments on Aug. 5 about whether an Oklahoma law banning religious charter schools violates the First Amendment’s protection of the free exercise of religion. Oklahoma established a charter school system in 1999, which provides public funds for privately run K–12 schools to which parents can send their children instead of a public school operated by a school district. The law only allows “nonsectarian” applicants, which prevents any participation from schools that have a religious identity.
