Wade, the annual March for Life will take place on January 20 in Washington, D.C., on the 50th anniversary of the infamous 1973 Supreme Court decision. The Council of State has ruled that European Law does not recognize the right to die with ‘dignity,’ and thus, France is not obliged to establish a regulation that legalizes assisted suicide.On December 29, 2022, the highest administrative court in France rejected a challenge to its law against assisted suicide by Swiss group “Dignitas.” Dignitas is committed to legalizing assisted suicide in jurisdictions outside of Switzerland.

Study: Marriage Linked to Higher Fertility

As society has moved further toward nontraditional unions, new research shows traditional marriage is linked to higher fertility rates while cohabitation and relationship instability is linked to lower fertility. “Marriage and cohabitation are far from indistinguishable in a country often described as a second demographic transition forerunner,” the study out of Finland finds. The cultural “retreat from marriage” has likely contributed to many societies falling below replacement fertility — about two children per woman — according to Institute for Family Studies senior fellow Dr. Laurie DeRose.

Court Rules Catholic Hospital Broke the Law When It Refused to Perform Transgender Surgery

A Catholic hospital that refused, on religious and ethical grounds, to allow a hysterectomy to be performed on a healthy woman as “treatment” for her gender confusion broke the law, according to a ruling from U.S. District Court Judge Deborah K. Chasanow in Maryland recently. A doctor with admitting privileges at St. Joseph Medical Center, a part of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), scheduled a woman named Jesse Hammons for surgery to remove her uterus in January 2020 as part of the woman’s “transition” to a male gender. When the hospital, which has not been captured by the new gender orthodoxy fad, learned of the nature of the surgery, it canceled the procedure.
