Entertainment Companies Use Social Media to Reach Minors with Mature-Rated Content, New Study Finds

New research by the Parents Television and Media Council (PTC) documents how easily 13 to 17-year-olds can access dangerous, explicit and adult-themed content on social media platforms, fueled by Hollywood marketing strategies.
The frequent use of social media, combined with algorithms that cater feeds to users’ interests makes media platforms addictive and “dangerous – especially for young people,” a PTC press release warns.

Detransitioner Announces Lawsuit Against Oregon Gender Clinics For Expediting Surgery

A detransitioner is suing a social worker, therapist, and their respective clinics in Oregon for overlooking her mental health challenges and fast-tracking her “non-binary” double mastectomy surgery.
Camille Kiefel, 32, represented by Jackson Bone LLP, announced a lawsuit last week against the health professionals who approved the surgery to have her breasts removed after only two brief Zoom meetings.

THE NEEDLESS ACT TO ‘PROTECT’ MARRIAGE. There are two things to remember about the Respect for Marriage Act. One, it is unnecessary. And two, it’s going to become law.
The bill is in the Senate, where it is guaranteed to pass. There was a vote this week to overcome a filibuster, and the bill made it over that hurdle with 62 votes — all 50 Senate Democrats plus 12 Republicans. Democratic leaders had waited until after the midterm elections to hold the vote in case any of the Republicans were feeling political pressure. Now, the Senate will hold a vote on the final passage after Thanksgiving.
