In addition, some local ordinances related to abortion went before voters. Most of the pro-abortion measures passed, but in three states — Florida, Nebraska, and South Dakota — voters staved off attempts to expand abortion. Collectively, the amount of funding raised to promote abortion by way of state ballot initiatives was around $244 million while the pro-life side raised around $29 million

The author stated that in 2014, 60% of adults 50 and older had at least one grandchild. In 2021, that rate fell to slightly over 50%. She added that many adults in the United States are not having children, and one of the top reasons is that “they just don’t want to.”

While euthanasia is immoral and should be outlawed in all cases, a fact affirmed by the Catholic Church, when MAiD was first introduced in 2016, it was initially only available to those who were terminally ill, and those killing the patients had to follow a series of steps before administering the lethal drugs. Later, in 2021, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government expanded the deadly practice to be available to those who are not at risk of death but who suffer solely from chronic illness.
