America’s pro-life movement readies 2025 federal- and state-level policy efforts
“Pro-life advocates plan to push federal- and state-level legislative and policy reforms on abortion when the United States Congress and many state legislatures enter into session in January 2025.
Many plans look toward regulating the abortion drug mifepristone, which is used in chemical abortions. According to the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion policy group, chemical abortions accounted for 63% of all abortions in 2023, which is an increase of 10 percentage points from 2020 and more than double what it was in 2014.”

“Sitting before members of Congress on Capitol Hill Tuesday, retired Border Patrol agent J.J. Carrell told the lawmakers that the “United States federal government is the world’s largest child sex trafficking organization in modern history.”
… “Let’s mobilize the full power of our intelligence and law enforcement communities to dismantle these criminal networks,” Rodas said, recommending that child trafficking activity should be elevated on the National Intelligence Priorities Framework and be designated a terrorist activity.
“We cannot be a nation that looks the other way,” Rodas said. “We have a moral imperative to care for children that the government takes into custody, and the time to act is now.”
Missouri abortion amendment: Close vote sparks hope, Catholic leader says
“After a close but heartbreaking loss at the ballot box that saw Missouri voters choose to enshrine a right to “reproductive freedom” in the state constitution Nov. 5, the head of the Missouri Catholic Conference (MCC) said the closeness of the vote and the unity displayed by pro-life advocates in the state suggest a repeal of the amendment in the future remains a possibility.
“It truly was a strong, unified, grassroots effort that I wish we’d gotten over the finish line, but I’m still very proud,” Jamie Morris, executive director of the MCC in Jefferson City, told CNA this week.”

Wyoming to Appeal Judge’s Decision Striking Abortion Ban, Will Fight in Court to Save Babies
“On Tuesday, the day after Teton County District Court Judge Melissa Owens for the third time struck down two protective abortion laws, Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon announced that “I have directed the Attorney General to review the opinion and prepare an appeal to the Wyoming Supreme Court.”
Gordon said, “Judge Owens’s ruling is frustrating, still this is just one of the steps in the judicial process,” adding, “Regardless of her decision, it was clear there would be an appeal. I remain committed to defending the constitutionality of this law and the sanctity of life.”
